It is better to use your knowledge and experience to solve problems than ask other people for advice. Do you agree or disagree?

Today’s prompt is “It is better to use your knowledge and experience to solve problems than ask other people for advice. Do you agree or disagree” I don’t agree with this. Mainly because what if what you know or the experience who have isn’t the right way to solve the current problem? That’s why I don’t agree with it. I mean it’s a good thing to have your own personal experience to a problem but it’s also better to solve things by getting other peoples advice on the situation and thinking whether what you’re about to do is the right thing or not.

Er I’m not sure how to make this about 600 words but I’ll try… In my personal opinion I think it’s better to ask other people such as friends or family members for advice rather than to use just your knowledge and experience because asking of their opinions gives you different perspectives and you can make up your mind to how you want to deal with the problem. But just using your knowledge and personal experience to solve a problem there’s no guarantee that it would help. The experience you have may have worked out for that problem but what if it doesn’t work out for the new problem same goes for knowledge it’s good that you know what to do but your knowledge but what you know might be different from another person’s point of view. That’s why I choose to disagree with using your knowledge and experience rather than asking others for advice or their opinions.

So today’s blog is my “favorite metaphor of love”. I don’t have a favorite metaphor so I had to search some and find the one that I liked the most. I really don’t want to do this topic because I don’t know what to write about, mostly since its going to have to be 600 words long. Sigh, but I have to do it if I don’t want t fail journalism. (That would be shameful if I were to fail this class lol)So just so you know (if you don’t know yet) a metaphor is a comparison of two unrelated topics. For example a notebook and chocolate. Well since I explained that (not very good) I hope you like my metaphor

My metaphor of love is “Love is inevitable”.  I chose this metaphor because it is pure logic. Inevitable means unavoidable. So basically it means “Love is unavoidable”. This is very true.  For example a boy and a girl met one day, they spend time with each other and getting to know each other more each day and next thing you know they like each other. Over time their like becomes to love and they are happy. But there are times where one of them starts losing feelings and they will eventually leave and go their separate ways. No matter how heartbroken the person is, one day they will find someone else who they can love and be loved back. (Hopefully more of being loved). So love is inevitable in relationships you just have to have hope.

Another good example on how love is inevitable is through family. (So I’ll just give a personal experience on this) I love your parents very much, but at times my mom and I would disagree on something and get into a fight. I might’ve said some harsh things to her and she said some back, and we both regret saying them in the end. But at the end of the day we work out a compromise and give our apologizes and slowly getting in a better mood again. What I’m saying is that even when we argue it doesn’t mean I don’t love her and that I can’t ever stop loving her (I mean she gave birth to me!)

Describing Myself

Okay this will be difficult because I’m not good at describing myself. But this is today’s assignment, so here we go. That's me there on the side.My name is Lynette Joyce Vasquez. I’m 16 years old; my birthday is on March 4, 1997. I was born on Northern Marianas Island, on a tiny island called Saipan. (beside Guam)My original hair color is black but I colored it auburn or dark red, I also straighten my hair because I don’t like how wavy it gets. I have dark brown eyes, and I wear contacts but my eyes gets irritated sometimes so I which to glasses. I’m 5’2 yes, I know I’m pretty short for my age. I go to Saipan International School (private school), and I’m currently a junior. . I can speak 3 languages. English (obviously), Tagalog (I can mostly read and understand), Mandarin (Beginner), and right now I’m learning to speak Japanese on Rosetta Stone. I go hiking once in a while. I’m addicting to Tumblr, Twitter, and texting. As for my personality I asked a couple of my friends their opinions about me because I wasn’t quite sure if how I describe myself is right haha. I’m an open person and I’m kind hearted. I am considerate about how others feel on certain things. I daydream a lot. (which is a bad thing sometimes) I’m not the type of person to judge by first expressions because a first impression doesn’t tell you everything about that one person. I try my best to keep the promise the I make. I can be loud at times (so sorry if you find that annoying) I love to take risks but if it’ll get me in trouble or get someone hurt I’d rather not do it. I can be really stubborn; I like things to go my way. (But hey don’t we all) I have a big heart. I’d rather be outside hanging out with friends rather than being stuck at home doing nothing all day. I’m deadly afraid of people in costumes (except on Halloween) I feel like the person inside will kidnap me or something even when I do know who’s inside it still scares me. (I blame Spiderman from I Heart Saipan, creepy guy), I’m also not good with dealing with needles they freak me out so much, I’d rather do the nasal vaccination other than getting a needle shot. Yup that’s about my looks and personality.

Okay so now these are my hobbies and what I like.  My hobbies are playing sports such as soccer, track, and volleyball. I focus more on soccer though. When I was eight years old I took art lessons with Greg Elliot, since then I’ve always been drawing, painting, using pastels, etc. Art for me is more personal, I really don’t like showing people when I draw since I’ve always been criticized by my friends. I love reading, nowadays I don’t have time but I try my best to make time to read, just a few days ago I went to the library and checked some books out. I like to cook and bake also (cookies, baked potatoes, muffins/cupcakes, etc ). I like to socialize and make new friends. I love listening to music I’m basically into hip-hop, alternative rock, a little bit of rap. (Austin Mahone, Justin Bieber, Maroon 5, Drake, Panic! At the disco, Dubstep etc.)But I’m open when it comes to new music. Music relaxes me, I know when studying (mostly for AP) I shouldn’t be listening to music but I do it anyway. I would really like to travel one day.

I love my friends and family. They are a big part of my life without them I don’t think I would be the person I am today.

New Year's Resolution

Whooo I’m finally a junior! I’m excited because I’m half way there to get out of high school and face reality. So I have a class this year called “journalism” and my teacher told us to start a blog involving topics he gave us to help expand our creativity. Now I’m not a big fan of New Year’s Resolution because somewhere within the year I either forget about it or I shrug it off and don’t listen to my resolution, but this is a an assignment and I do want a good grade so I’ll be talking about this school year’s resolution hopefully this year I can keep it up and try my best to get to where I want to be. But yay I’m finally a junior and I’m excited to experience this year’s journalism class and how I will expand my creativity in so many ways by this blog where I can express myself and  also get a good grade in.
One of my many resolutions is to get more serious in my education. I want to go into a good college so I could go pursue my goals of being a lawyer. I've gotten my heart set to become a lawyer since I was eight years old. I am now 16 and I want my dream to come true, but without me making effort into my education I won’t get anywhere. As a junior, time is running out I’ll be a senior next year and
the following year I’d be in college. Time is running out. This is the year to stop procrastinating and get my life together. I’m going to pursue this resolution by working harder on my studies and not slacking off in school. I will turn my work in time, and study hard enough so I could ace a test.

One of my other many resolutions is to lose a bunch of weight and be able to do at least one pull up. I would like to weigh hundred pounds and to be fit enough to do at least one pull up. I want to lose weight so I could get a curve on my waist, or get a toned body. I’m actually working on that right now by joining Gold’s Gym. I've already lost 7 pounds along with losing weight I also lift weights at Gold’s Gym to get in shape on my arms so I could be able to lift myself for a pull up. I've never been able to do a pull up and I always feel weak when I try because I can’t even lift myself up, so this year I’m going to work out and try to get fit, skinny, and do a pull up without fail or struggle.

And lastly one other of my new year’s resolutions is to meet Austin Mahone. I've been a Mahomie since I was 14 years old. I love his voice, his personality, and his features. Since the day I listened to his music video cover Justin Bieber – Mistletoe I instantly fell in love with his voice. This year 2013 he will be going on a world tour. I hope that one day I would be able to go to the states and go to one of Austin’s concert front row and me singing along to his music, even if I have a bad voice, also me being able to go get a VIP pass to go backstage and personally meet Austin Mahone myself.  Once I see him I want to hug him and tell him how much he means to me, sounds creepy but it’s true.
